Here are some tips for your everyday life:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>There is no \u201cone-size-fits-all\u201d<\/strong>. Everybody processes food differently and has a different taste. You don\u2019t need to stick to guidelines perfectly, keep it maintainable so you can benefit in the long run. Just keep these recommendations in mind:\n<ol>\n<li>Try to keep your salt consumption to a maximum of 6g per day.<\/li>\n<li>Moderate your intake of sugar and saturated fats.<\/li>\n<li>Choose fresh, whole foods over preprocessed options.<\/li>\n<li>Incorporate plenty of fruits and vegetables into your diet.<\/li>\n<li>Opt for plant-based fats, such as vegetable oil or avocados.<\/li>\n<li>Choose whole grain products like whole wheat pasta or bread to help you feel fuller for longer.<\/li>\n<li>Aim to drink about 1.5 liters of water or unsweetened tea each day.<\/li>\n<li>Enjoy alcohol in moderation, if at all.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Meal prep &amp; plan<\/strong>. Days at university can be very exhausting. Cook in advance to have a quick but fresh dinner or plan meals for the week, so you know what you have time for, and you have everything already at home.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Buy fresh food<\/strong>. Visit your local market, like the \u201cKornmarkt\u201d in Siegen city or in Siegen-Weidenau at \u201cHauptmarkt\u201d on Wednesdays and Saturdays for fresh and regional food.
