Workshop Recap: Step Into Your Future \u2013 Employability Training for International Students<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Last weekend, a group of motivated international students came together for a two-day workshop centered around a key question: How can I prepare myself for a successful career start in Germany?<\/em><\/p>\n

The training, titled \u201cGetting Your First Job: Employability Training,\u201d<\/strong> provided an interactive and reflective space to explore and develop the skills needed to thrive in today\u2019s job market. Led by employability and personal development expert Manuel L\u00f6ffler, the workshop covered a wide range of topics essential for career readiness<\/strong> and long-term professional growth<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Over the two days, students engaged in a dynamic mix of short presentations, solo reflection exercises, peer feedback, and hands-on group work. They practiced communication and collaboration, tackled real-world scenarios like job interviews and workplace challenges, and deepened their understanding of self-leadership<\/strong>, critical thinking<\/strong>, and goal setting<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Participants also had the opportunity to bring along job postings<\/strong> they were interested in. Together, the group reviewed these listings, exchanged tips on how to tailor applications, and discussed effective strategies for presenting themselves as strong candidates. Those who brought a CV<\/strong> received constructive feedback on how to improve and adapt it for the German job market. In small groups, students also simulated job interviews<\/strong>, allowing them to apply their learnings directly in a realistic setting.<\/p>\n

By the end of the workshop, participants had:<\/strong><\/p>\n

  1. Gained a clear understanding of the employability concept<\/strong> and its relevance beyond just landing a first job.<\/li>\n
  2. Identified their individual strengths<\/strong>, challenges<\/strong>, and career goals<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  3. Strengthened their ability to reflect<\/strong>, give and receive constructive feedback<\/strong>, and adapt to new professional environments<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  4. Practiced creative problem-solving<\/strong>, teamwork<\/strong>, and confident communication<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  5. Worked on real-life application materials<\/strong> and interview scenarios<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  6. Created action plans<\/strong> to continue their development beyond the training.\n

    A follow-up online session is scheduled in a few weeks, offering participants the chance to check in on their progress and revisit key topics from the training.<\/p>\n
