No lectures, no deadlines. In theory, it&#8217;s the perfect time to relax. <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 1rem\">And yet, you feel tired, unmotivated, maybe even a little stuck? <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 1rem\">If that sounds familiar, you&#8217;re probably going through what many students experience each year: the <\/span><strong style=\"font-size: 1rem\">Summer Slump<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 1rem\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 1rem\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 1.125rem\">What is the \u201cSummer Slump\u201d?<\/span><\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s that low-energy phase during the semester break when time feels endless, but nothing really gets done.<br \/>\nYou might notice thoughts like:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cI should be making more out of this free time.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cWhy can\u2019t I just relax properly?\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cEveryone else seems to be doing exciting things. What\u2019s wrong with me?\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The truth is: nothing\u2019s wrong. It\u2019s a common reaction to a long, intense semester.<\/p>\n<h3>Why it happens<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>No routine<\/strong>: Without structure, days can feel blurry or aimless.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Post-semester fatigue<\/strong>: After weeks of pressure, the brain needs time to reset.<\/li>\n<li><strong>High expectations<\/strong>: Summer often comes with pressure to be productive, social, or self-optimizing.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Social media overload<\/strong>: Constant posts about vacations and adventures can make you feel like you\u2019re missing out.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 1.125rem\"><br \/>\nWhat might help\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>You don\u2019t need a big plan to \u201cfix\u201d anything. But small steps can make the slump feel less heavy:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Create some structure<\/strong><br \/>\nTry regular sleep times, meals, or a short daily walk. A bit of rhythm helps.<\/li>\n<li><strong>One small task a day<\/strong><br \/>\nDon\u2019t overdo it. Start simple: laundry, grocery shopping, sending one email.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Move your body<\/strong><br \/>\nA walk through Weidenau, biking to the Sieg, or just stretching at home can already shift your energy.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Reach out<\/strong><br \/>\nChances are, you&#8217;re not the only one still in Siegen feeling this way.
