Host: Prof. Dr. Christoph Strünck, Dean School of Life Sciences, University of Siegen
E-mail: christoph.struenck@uni-siegen.de
Siegen’s School of Life Sciences was just recently established as a new research hub for digital healthcare. The school is linked to strategic partners such as Erasmus Medical Center Rotterdam, the Netherlands, as well as Medical Schools, hospitals, and practices in the bordering region. The workshop will highlight our main research areas, linking disciplines and areas such as biomedicine, medical data science, digital public health, health services research, and psychology:
- Creating “digital twins” of patients in rural primary care)
- Using smartphones for neurological monitoring of patients in rural areas
- Applying XR technologies in digital mental health
- Building digital pathways to rehabilitation
Providing flashlights of research projects in Siegen, the workshop focusses on how to match interests and persons in Siegen and Tulsa for future collaboration. Funding opportunities are pondered, as well. The workshop addresses people from facilities such as the Institute of Bioinformatics and Computational Biology (IBCB), the Institute of Biochemical and Psychological Study of Individual Differences (IBPID), the Computational Neuroscience and Adaptive Systems Lab (CNAS) as well as the Institute for Health Care Delivery Sciences (CHCDS).
