Why the Employability-Pass Matters for You

In Germany, studying successfully and finding a job require different skill sets.
As an international student, you’re already navigating the academic system, but it’s just as important to develop the professional skills and cultural understanding that German employers value.
By participating in the FIT program and earning your Employability Pass, you’ll be preparing for life beyond graduation.

The FIT program helps you with that critical second transformation:

What is the Employability Pass?

Study hard, stay in Germany, and succeed with the Employability Pass!

The Employability Pass is designed to help international students at the University Siegen build essential skills, gain real-world experience, and navigate the German job market. Through participation in the Forging International Talents program, you can earn points that count towards your Employability Pass, unlocking rewards that will give you a competitive edge in your career.

How Does It Work?

Attend FIT Events
Participate in a variety of workshops, networking sessions, and social activities. Each event fits into one of four categories designed to ensure your overall success:

  • Well Being & Social Integration
  • Soft Skills & Employability
  • Career & Networking

For each event, training session, or workshop, you can see exactly on the respective event page how many points are awarded and in which category.

Track Your Progress
After each event, your participation will be recorded on a participant list maintained by the International Office. You can inquire about your point status anytime to keep track of your progress.
Additionally, a printable pass will soon be available on this website. You are welcome to record your points there to keep track of how many points you still need to complete each area.

Complete the Pass
Once you’ve collected enough points across all four categories, you’ll have earned your Employability Pass. This gives you access to exclusive rewards that support your career journey, such as a professional resume check, a certificate, and free professional application photos.
