SLR Blog: Exam Withdrawal & Sick Leave | Student Survival Tips

All exams must be registered independently in unisono within the official deadlines. Late registrations are not possible.

Withdrawing Within the Deadline

  • Withdrawal must be submitted in writing at least 7 days before the exam date to the Examination Office.

  • After the deadline, withdrawal is only possible with a valid reason (e.g. illness).

  • You may choose the second scheduled date as your first attempt.

  • This does not give you an extra repeat attempt if you fail.

Sick on Exam Day?

If you cannot attend due to illness:

  • Inform the Examination Office within 3 days after the exam date

  • Submit:

    • Signed withdrawal form

    • Official medical certificate

⚠ The university cannot access sick notes from your health insurance.

If accepted, the attempt will not be counted as failed and you can take the exam at the next date (e.g. as your first attempt).

 Repeat Attempts

Second Attempt

  • Register again independently in unisono within the deadline.

Third Attempt

  • Registration only via the Examination Office.

  • Submit the signed third-attempt form.

  • Final repeat exams without compensation are assessed by at least two examiners.

  • Withdrawal: latest 7 days before the exam date (otherwise only with valid reason).
