c2AW

The career competence Awareness Workshops (c2AW) are part of the overarching university project „FIT – Forging International Talents,“ funded by the DAAD as part of the „Campus Initiative for International Professionals“ with support from the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).

The goal of FIT is to support international students throughout their academic journey (Student Life Cycle) with programs designed to enhance academic success, career readiness, and entry into the German job market. The c2AW contribute significantly by linking students‘ personal competence profiles with job-related requirements in Germany through two key phases:

Opening & Awareness: Recognizing Existing Competencies

  • What skills do I bring to my studies?
  • What are my personal strengths and talents?
  • How can I effectively apply these competencies?

The „Opening & Awareness“ workshops help international students identify and reflect on their competencies and strengths. Participants learn how to utilize these effectively in their studies while identifying areas for further development. The workshops also serve as spaces for networking, collaboration, and exchange.

Growth: Enhancing Competence Profiles for Career Entry

  • What skills have I developed further during my studies at the University of Siegen?
  • How does my competence profile align with job-related requirements?
  • Which skills will help me succeed in the German job market?

The „Growth“ workshops focus on helping students articulate and reflect on the skills acquired or enhanced during their studies. They explore how these skills align with professional and societal demands in Germany, incorporating elements like Green and Future Skills into their profiles.

Flexibility and Recommendation:
Students can attend workshops individually, but for a comprehensive approach to personal development and visibility of progress, participation in both „Opening & Awareness“ and „Growth“ workshops is encouraged.

The Career Service offers also many other workshops and advice sessions in both German and English throughout the semester: Look at the workshop offers from our Career Service
