Dr Abou-Tair, associate professor at the German-Jordanian University,
received his PhD from the University of Siegen, Germany. During his Ph.D., he conducted research about the adoption of privacy laws and regulations in information systems through an ontology-based approach. He has wide expertise in the fields of domain analysis, ontology development, database modelling, development of web-based information systems, and project coordination. His current research interests are in the areas of privacy-enhancing technologies, social media and Human-Computer Interaction. He was a post-doctorate researcher at the Chair of IT-Security at the University of Siegen and has been involved with a number of EU and German-funded research projects. Currently, Dr Abou-Tair is the PI of EU funded project EDU-SYRIA, www.edu-syria.eu.
